Rising Star Taylor Fritz Makes His Mark on Varsity Tennis

Previously undefeated Rancho Bernardo High School recently suffered its first loss of the season against the Torrey Pines High School varsity tennis team. The 7-0 shutout included a standout performance by 6'3" freshman Taylor Fritz, who swept all three of his singles sets.
Fritz’s tournament win at the Long Beach Designated event had already marked him as a rising talent. His confident play helped fuel a dominant team victory and added momentum to Torrey Pines’ season.
Torrey Pines Head Coach Chris Numbers, in his first year leading the team, is a former NCAA Division I All-American and international Davis Cup coach.
